Hi,Yes, both Technet nor MSDN nor Retail version of Windows are exactly the same.I dont really sure about Nero, but do you select 'Bootable DVD' when you burn this out?If you are already using Windows Vista/7, you should able to double click the ISO file and it will pop up a windows that helps you to burn that ISO in to DVD. Ofcoz, it only works if you've never install any 3rd party's burning software.For more, do you burn the DVD out from ISO or just files?Last, I notice that you said you've try to boot on your laptop and none of that success, are you sure it is not the issue on the DVD-rom or even just forget to set the Boot order from BIOS?Hopes help.Best Regards,Nova C. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. The TechNet downloads are no different than retail or eOpen licence downloads.I'm using Nero 10. I also tried Roxio as well as a 'Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool' from Microsoft Store.
The downloaded files are in.iso format. The burning process succeeds without any problem. I have three discs burnt withthe thre different utilities. Here's a simple suggestion: Try installing from USB using a flash drive:I recently downloaded the same technet package and followed the instructions linked and it worked flawlessly, I think.My only other suggestion is that you need an ISO reader like or to create a virtual CD drive onto which you can mount the.iso file you download from Technet.
Both apps linked above have trial downloads that will work for this situation without having to purchase them. I'm currently running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (I've installed the Service Pack 1 as soon as it was made available for download) downloaded as ISO file from TechNet Subscriber downloads, created the installation DVD using Nero Burning ROM and installed it:everything went fine and the system works well.What did you exactly do to create the Windows 7 DVD from the ISO file? My laptops and PC's are set to boot from DVD. I'm doing a fresh install not upgrade. It must be both of my downloads (with and without SP1). I installedWindows 7 Pro 64-bit without any problem. MagicISO wants to extract files from a.ISO file, but this is the wrong approach. The.ISO you download is an image of a bootable DVD and that image needs to be burned as is - no alterations.A simple program to burn.ISO files is ISO Recorder avaialble @If you want to use a USB Flash Drive use the windows 7 DVD Download Tool to transfer the.ISO files to a USB Flash Drive.
