For me it's not true. I didn't experience enemies being able to shoot me through the walls. But then again im only in 14th mission Boat.Yes, the game does run on Windows 10 based on various sources.

Make sure you install the 64-bit AMD patch which is included in your CD/DVD. I also have the DVD version but running on Windows 7 64-bit.If the game doesn't run, try running on XP SP3 compatibilty mode. Also make sure your Far Cry DVD is inserted in your DVD drive. Without it you won't be able to play the game. Reminder to start STEAM 'As Administrator', this solved a lot of starting problems with several games in my library.
Verify cache is something you want to do after D/L any game on STEAM and then maybe once a week depending on your use of the game.The AMD64 patches will add an additional bin folder to the game (bin64) with a 64bit optimized FarCry.exe and patch the game to v 1.32. A shortcurt is created on your DT. This runs independant of STEAM so you now have two games. You can run either. Mods and user levels work in both but I think do not save the same.I don't need a compatibility mode, running fine in Win 10.
Comp mode may (or not) help but which one to use depends on individual machine specs and OS. Game configuration is a more likely suspect. STAY AWAY FROM 'VERY HIGH' LIGHTING! Ditto for shadows.

It is just under 500 MB in size. If you can't find it, try searching for it on the internet with exactly this size that way you'll know you'll be safe to download it.Well I can't embed the screenshot here. What you can try, is copying the entire installation folder to your hard drive and then installing the game. Instead of trying to install it directly from your DVD. Because sometimes the DVD Drive fails to read the data resulting in error.I believe I had this exact same Failed to complete installation when I tried through autorun. When I reinserted the DVD again and tried through Setup.exe then the game installed normally.As for the patch, that you can download from the internet. I'm sure you'll find it.
