The print out will show you where the program is not doing what you want it to do.Copy and paste here the console from when you execute the program.I have debugged the program and it turns out for some reason the program is working up until it gets to the fromMeters in which the val variable is equal to 0. I have tryed many different things and I can not get the variable to carry over and equal anything but 0. I tryed adding a line of code where I create a new variable called VALUE and set it equal to val but I guess i don't totally understand how to pass the variable from the ConversionCalculator to the UnitConverter. Try debugging the code by adding printlns to show the values of variables and expressions as the code executes.
