This is a good cost saving measure that allows the school to put you in front of a computer and not have to employ a driver and risk costly repairs on real equipment. The problem is that you will never find a simulator that can replace the real thing.
You won’t test on a simulator for your Commercial Driver’s License so why train on anything other than a real truck. At Daly’s Truck Driving School we custom built our facility with almost 6 acres of asphalt to train on, complete with 2 full size testing carousels This is by far the largest expense associated with our facility. Most schools will train you on rock lots because the expense of asphalt is too high. Asphalt also dramatically increases your tire expense because the wear and tear is greater. Daly’s spends the required money to make you successful.
The way a truck backs on asphalt is much different than dirt or rock. Don’t get tricked into a contract. The difference is, at Daly’s Truck Driving School, you have choices.
