WORK ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMIn lieu of incarceration, the Jail Division of the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office has an inmate Work Alternative Program. The program is known to most as W.A. (Work Alternative) or S.W.A.P. (Sheriff Work Alternative Program).To qualify for S.W.A.P., the person must have received a jail sentence of 40 days or less. The cost of the program is $30.00, in CASH, and the registration process takes approximately 30 minutes. The $30.00 fee must be brought in cash as exact change.
The facility cannot make change, and does not except checks or money orders. The program accepts court commitments from other Counties only if a reciprocity agreement is on file with that county.The program is located at the County Jail. The address is 710 Flynn Road, Hollister, CA. And operates everyday from 7:30 a.m. To 3:30 p.m.Registration for the program is done by appointment only.
